hello, my name is KAYLIE. i am EIGHTEEN years young and i consider myself a(n) INTERMEDIATE roleplayer. i found this site through PROBOARDS SUPPORT. so, here's an example of my average post:
kris aiken had to admit that he was nervous. being a skilled musician was one thing, but being hired to teach a classroom full of kids the fundementals of music and the importance of interpreting it into culture today sounded quite challenging. but of course it wasn't the curricular plan that had kris worried. in fact, he had no plan. he had decided to just completely wing it. he wasn't sure how well that would turn out, but he figured it was worth a shot. the worst he could do was lose this job, which he couldn't even quite remember why he took in the first place. oh yeah, for a greater sense of value. he wanted to feel like he was contributing to the world with his gift for music. and what better way than to become a music director? he didn't have much experience with instruments other than his guitar and piano, but in his opinion he didn't need much else. they were his lifelines and he planned to keep it that way.
music was his life, that much he was sure of. it had always been there for kris, music was the only thing that he knew wouldn't let him down. everyone else had seemed too lately, of course his family was still there for him, in a way, but he wasn't about to burden them with his problems. they were his, therefore he would deal with them his way. which meant forgetting about them and pushing them to the back of his mind where they would stay locked for the rest of eternity, more than likely. things had been so hard lately. his divorce had been finalized about four months ago and he couldn't believe he was single. he had been with katy for so long. it had almost been ten years. and he still couldn't bring himself to understand why she would throw all of it away for that guy. that guy used to be his best friend, until he backstabbed kristopher by being the other man in his wife's life. him and katy had been fighting a lot, but he never took it seriously. ever couple had rough spots, right? or at least that's what kris had figured it had been. it turned out that the hollywood life just wasn't for katy. she much preferred the small town simpleness of conway, arkansas, their home town.
kris knew that it was for the best. but that didn't change that it hurt. a lot. a whole hell of a lot. he had stood in front of her and vowed to be there for her for the rest of his life, to take care of her through sickness and health. but in some ways it seemed like he was the one who failed her, i mean why else would she cheat? maybe it just hadn't been true love. it was true that kris hadn't ever dated anyone other than katy. she had been his first crush, first girlfriend, and they had eventually gotten married. every small town couples dream, right? well, yeah. but it was pretty funny how one big dream come true could send all of that crashing down over night. kris had promised her that he wouldn't let her down, but in a way, he felt like he had. his fairytale ending was ruined, as was hers. he felt like he had ruined it for her. and he made himself mentally promise the day that it had all been legalized that he would never ever let somebody down that way again. he deserved to be alone, or at least that's what he believed.
now, sitting here in this empty choir like room, he was reminded of their high school days. when he had serenaded here by playing the piano and singing to her. but those days were long gone and kris was surprised to find that the ache to have them all back wasn't present. maybe the numbness was back, but he had thought he had rid himself of that a long time ago. his friends had told him that he just needed to get his mind off of it, off of her. but that was easier said then done. kris knew it would get easier, everything did with time and they were still friends. despite everything that happened, he felt he still owed her that much, his friendship. and here he was, going to be directing students. watching as they made the same mistakes he had done and not being able to give out any guidance. he hated watching the young high school couples, only because he knew that they were doomed to the unforgivable feeling of heartbreak.
kris glanced at the clock, his class would be here soon. breaking out of his thoughts, he plastered a smile on his face, in some ways, he was excited. he would get to meet a lot of new people and teach them about his favorite thing in the world. music had been his wonderwall through everything and he was determined to teach these kids that it could be the same thing to them, as long as they cared enough. kris straightened out his red and blue plaid button down and ran a hand through his hair. even in school he never resulted to appropriate staff member's clothing. it made him feel so uncomfortable. so he usually stuck with jeans, button downs, and t-shirts. these students needed someone they could relate too. not some stuck up, out of touch, prude. walking over to the stool in the front of the classroom, he took a seat, casually waiting. he looked way too young to be a teacher, this was obvious. in fact, the only reason he had been able to get the job was by taking a test, and sharing his free lance view of teaching. in his eyes it was much easier for students to learn when they were interested and doing hands on activities. his thoughts strayed as the bell rang, he waited for his class to appear.
