hello, my name is ZOE. i am NINETEEN years young and i consider myself an ADVANCED roleplayer. i found this site through CAUTION. so, here's an example of my average post:
alice covered her mouth with her hand, trying to calm herself down, breathing in deeply & slowly, but even that couldn't stop the tears. alice wasn't a big fan of crying in front of people, but this was remus; he wasn't just people. remus was like her brother - if they were any closer, they'd be physically attached. alice could act like the biggest fool hogwarts had ever seen in front of him & he wouldn't care. well .. alice didn't think he would, plus, she would never act like a fool anyway. alice was far too reserved for that. she watched as he sat up, staring at him as he looked at her, not even attempting to brush the tears away, knowing there would be no point - more would just replace them. she removed her hand from her mouth, choosing instead to grip her wand tightly, not willing to take any chances, not in this place. she thought nothing of remus brushing her tears away, & closed her eyes momentarily as he did so, the fact that she was around someone who didn't expect anything from her soothing her. she hated that people expected so much from her, that everyone seemed to rely upon her to do everything. remus didn't rely on her. if anything, she relied upon him.
alice didn't even notice remus's look of surprise, nor his guilt; she was far too busy with summoning a candle & lighting it with her fingers, a delightful piece of magic she always took pleasure in doing. her brothers would call her a magician for doing such a thing, & she supposed that was what she was. blowing the flame out, alice relit it, before placing the candle carefully in front of her, her wand now stuck behind her ear for safe keeping. knowing that remus was here had calmed her down considerably, though she still sniffled every now & again, & wiped her face on the back of her hand. shifting, alice sat cross-legged on the floor, shuddering slightly as she caught sight of the claw marks in the walls & carpets, trying not to imagine what could have done such damage. if she imagined it, she'd only be scared that it was here, waiting to be discovered. it could even be in this room!
no, no, alice, be reasonable - something that size would have been discovered hours ago, she reasoned, forcing herself to relax, pushing the panic that was quickly building up away as firmly as she could. it's not as though you're the only one here; james or sirius, or even remus would have found it, & you wouldn't even be here. alice nodded to herself, not even aware that she was doing it. rubbing her arm, alice's thoughts drifted to frank again, & his whereabouts. she didn't particularly like that he'd gone off & left her on her own when he'd known full well that she was scared out of her life in a place she didn't want to be. in fact, she'd go so far as to say that she was disgruntled. maybe even irked. frowning again, alice directed her attention back to the candle, wondering whether she should just use a summoning charm to find her boyfriend. it would save her a lot of time & effort. remus would never disappear on me, she found herself thinking, tucking her hair behind her ear. remus is always there. turning back to remus, she gave up trying to pinpoint frank's location, knowing that wherever it was, he probably wasn't doing anything exciting. he was probably asleep in another room upstairs - he had been drinking rather a lot of firewhiskey tonight. alice had steered clear of the stuff, & had - as promised - stuck to butterbeer, choosing to stay sober, which was more than she could say for the rest of her friends. besides, if she went to find frank, she wouldn't be able to stick around with remus; there was no love lost between the pair & it was apparent that remus thought she could do better, when alice was perfectly happy with frank. besides, alice honestly couldn't think of anyone better for her than frank - unless you counted remus himself, but .. he was her friend. alice would never even dream of having remus as her .. boyfriend. even thinking it felt odd.
"what are you apologizing for? its not your fault that you're such a pansy."
alice managed a weak smile, pushing away thoughts of frank & remus as her boyfriend ( which wasn't going to happen - they were too close ) & focused instead upon the hand on the top of her head, ducking out of reach as the same hand messed up her hair. fiddling with her curls, alice brushed them out of the way, wishing she'd thought to bring a bobble with her. wearing her hair down wasn't one of alice's favourite hair styles, but she'd just have to live with it. she grinned at remus's next words, & shook her head, shuffling closer to him, linking her arm through his. "n-no, i suppose not," she admitted, leaning into him.
