Itwasn't like Benji hated work it was just the simple fact that he hated work. He had been at starbucks for way too long. There were always too many unhappy coustomers, and if he had to deal with getting and ice cold coffee thrown in his face he was going to literally snap. Benji stood in the bathroom at the sink and wiped it clean. He looked up in the mirror and sighed softly. "I don't have to deal with this" with that he walked out of the bathroom and out the door without a word to anyone. He was told after the situation happened that he could go home which all in all was a good thing since his outfit was trashed.
So the boy walked to his car unlocked it and slid into the drivers seat. He would have already headed home if he hadn't promised someone a ride home. Benji pulled out a cigarette and put it between his lips. He held it there for a minute before he lit the end of it. Benjamin took a long drag from the cigarette and closed his eyes. After the flare up of his temper he knew he would sleep pretty well tonight. Benji watched out the window at the cars passing by on the highway. It was a boring itinerary for the things he could be doing, but it was his fault for not being able to say no to people.
Running his fingers through his hair Benji sighed and looked at the clock. He had been waiting for what seemed like ever. He started to wonder now why Vivienne had asked him to drive her home. To the best of his knowledge the girl had a car, and wouldnt it look a little--well--wrong to people if she got in his car? A small smirk appeared on his face as thoughts began to roll through his head. He could really care less what people thought he was doing something nice for someone and thats all that mattered to him. He only wished that her shift would end so that they could leave this god forsaken place. It was safe to say Benjamin hated starbucks.

Today wasn't exactly Vivienne's best day either. There was one thing about Starbucks that she absolutely hated. The indecisive little children that ordered there. Okay so maybe two or three of them weren't exactly children because they were around her age but they certainly acted like one. And then there were the "this is too hot... Now it's not hot enough," people that would walk up to her demanding that she forgot to put whipped cream in their hot chocolate. Sometimes Vivienne was tempted to just scream back at them, "You've got two hands! Why don't you do it yourself? Oh wait, I'm sure the only thing you use them for is shoving hamburgers in your mouth."
She desperately wished she didn't need this job, but she did- badly. The chances of Ivanna giving her money were the same chances that it would snow in hell. Between her addictions, her clothes and her hunk-of-junk car she needed every dime.
She was just wrapping up her shift when she saw Benjamin walk out. Viv frowned and was about to leave right after him when two girls walked in and looked at the menu for five minutes alone. Finally once they were ordered and leaving, Viv wasted no time in ripping the apron off, then pointed the time out to her manager who nodded and turned back to whatever he had been doing before.
She ran out the door and into the parking lot, spotting Benji's car almost immediately. She slowed to a brisk walk before reaching it and quickly climbed in the passanger side. "Thanks I owe you. My car's in the shop and I think it's just going to explode on me anyday now. The thing's a damn dinosaur." She didn't bother with the seatbelt and just sat there smirking. "Jamin, what happened? I missed it." At that point she pulled out one of her cigarettes from her pocket and asked to borrow his lighter.

Everyone who knew Benji knew that at time he could be a rea drama king. He like attention, and he was going to get it from anyone any way that he could. A smile covered his face, and he slammed both of his hands down on the steering wheel and started his story, still looking out the windsheild. "You should have seen it Viv..that guy was right there with that ice cold coffee in his hand. He was bitching about something I don't know I wasn't really listening, and I saw it..I did Viv. I saw it like it was in a movie everything was moving in slow motion.." He stopped for a second and turned to look at the girl, and read what kind of expression she had on her face. After a second he began his story again. "..He was just about to throw that shit right back at me before I jumped over the counter and punched him square between the eyes." He chuckled a bit, and threw his cigarette out the window. At least he had a sense of humor right? Even though it was a little messed up.
Benji rolled his eyes and shook his head and looked at Viv. "It was decaf coffee because surprise surprise. That's exactly what he asked for. I gave him the cup he took a drink and threw it right back in my face. 'I said regular coffee you idiot'" The impression was a bad one, but he didn't care. That guy deserved whatever Benji wanted to do to him too bad he couldn't do a thing without not losing his job. "I wanted to punch him Vivienne. I wanted to hurt him so bad but I had to stand there and not say a damn word." His hands were turning white at the knuckles from the tight grip he had on his steering wheel. Right about now Benjamin Andrew was so mad that he just needed something or someone to punch. Too bad Vivienne was a girl.
The boy took a deep breath, and turned to look at her. "I'm sorry I should learn how to control my anger. It just sucks having to deal with that shit all the time. Not to mention all the stress that the boss puts on us." When Benji found someone that acted like they cared it was hard for him to know when to stop talking, but he was done. He turned the key and started the car, but still he didn't go anywhere. He turned the station on the stereo, and turned the music up a bit. He needed to calm down before he went anywhere. Who knows what could happen if he drove while he was this angry. Probably nothing except a few curses, and a bit of fast driving, but still the latter of the two was pretty dangerous. "So I expect the rest of your shift was just as shitty if not more so?" He smiled and looked at her again as he waited her response. [/blockquote]

She raised her eyebrows at him as he slammed his hands down on the steering wheel, playfully mimicing him by slamming her hands down on the dashboard. She turned and gave a coy smile, though didn't say anything at first. She was picturing a slow motion fight scene from karate kid taking place in Starbucks. She laughed a little, then realized that this wasn't exactly the story for breaking out into histerical laughter. Though for a second she really believed that he had punched the guy, sometimes they deserved it and there were certainly times when she wanted to punch a customer or two.
She had a blank expression back on her face as he continued to tell his story. She fished around in her pockets for her lighterand smiled when she found it, sticking the cigarette between her lips ansd flicking on the flame. She lit the cigarette and took a long drag, removing it from her lips with her thumb and index finger and letting the smoke pour out from the small crack between her lips. She turned to face him and took another drag from her cigarette. She shook her head frowned. "People these days... well I probably would've punched him, to be honest. So kudos to you Jamin!" She smirked a little and flicked some of the ash out her passanger window. She looked down at his knuckles and raised an eyebrow.
She closed her eyes briefly and noded. "Well people that come in there are usually shitheads in general. I swear if I hear, 'tazo chai tea latte to go and make it snappy m'kay?' one more time today I'll just combust into flames or something like that." Vivienne sat back in her seat and puffed on her cigarette for a moment. "Well there's this one girl who comes in every day with a different guy and she talks really slow to me and thinks I'm slow or something. Then there's the girls who change their mind 5 times. But that is pretty daily so I guess you could say I had a normally pissed off day at work." Vivienne flashed him a smile and ran a hand through her hair. "So what's your plans for the rest of the day now that we're out of that hell-hole."
